An ocean of possibilities: Exploring the potential of electronic writing

…Electronic writing can be much like the ocean: beautiful and full of possibilities for some people, menacing and dangerous to others.

And sometimes, while appreciating its awesome power and spectacle, we can still find it terrifying – if you’ve ever stood watching an ocean churned by the winds of a cyclone, you’ll know what I mean.

However, also like the ocean, electronic writing is “here” and it’s not going anywhere; ignoring either is futile. The purpose of this article is to introduce readers to some of the possibilities of the electronic ocean, to encourage readers to dip their toes into the water.

For the more adventurous, there are also some suggestions that will take you further away from the shore, where you may not be able to touch bottom anymore. Have no fear, though, you’ll still be in sight of land.

Just raise an arm and wave if you need a lifesaver!”
